About Brian
Brian was born in Aberdeen.
His interest in the organ began at the age of 7 when he vividly remembers practicing at his local church in freezing temperatures.  He studied organ, piano and composition at the Royal Academy of Music with Douglas Hawkridge, Robert Edwards
and Dr. Eric Thiman.

Brian's Career
As a freelance musician he has pursued a
career as a performer, accompanist and teacher.
He has given many recitals in this country and in Italy and  has broadcast recitals on a number of
occasions for BBC 3.

In 2005 he was invited to perform a programme of English music for the Association of Organists
in Bologna Italy.

Brian has now just retired from being the Director of Music at St Mary the Virgin Monken Hadley  Church of England church after 25 years unbroken service.


Brian by Day
 Brian also regularly directs a local
16 strong choir, 'Monken Hadley Singers'.
Their recitals include several  visits to sing at
local Churches and Churches in Europe,
most famously, Bologna Cathedral.

Brian's Current Project
Today, Brian is helping to raise money to pay for the restoration of
the rare and ancient 1898 Hill organ
at St Joseph's  Highgate London.
The organ was originally installed at the Northern Polytechnic Institute
(a forerunner of the London Metropolitan University).
